Laminated Beams, Columns and Studs
LVL beams
Laminated LVL beams deliver consistent dimensions, enhanced durability and reduced shrinkage. They also resist warping, twisting, bowing and crowning.
Designed for performance and durability, LVL beams are manufactured from graded wood veneers bonded with adhesives. Knots and defects are dispersed randomly during the manufacturing process, and moisture levels are reduced, stabilized and uniform.
Trust in a brand-name product that provides greater capacity than typical grades of sawn lumber, which allows for longer spans. Available in a variety of lengths and widths, these beams also allow for greater design flexibility than sawn lumber
LVL beams are available in industry-standard sizes, namely 9 ½", 11 7/8", 14" and 16".
Versa-Lam columns
These days, the trend is toward large open rooms in homes, with a reduced number of columns. Therefore, the remaining columns must bear greater loads, and traditional wood is often inadequate. An attractive alternative to steel columns is to use Versa-Lam engineered wood columns.
Laminated columns are available in industry-standard sizes, namely 3 ½" x 3 ½", 3 ½" x 5" 1/4", 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" and 7" x 7", in 10- and 20-foot lengths.
Versa-Stud studs
Versa-Stud studs are designed to provide reliable and predictable performance that is resistant to warping, shrinkage and camber. These studs are extra-long and always remain straight.
Using Versa-Stud studs decreases the volume of material required for the construction of walls in excess of 10-feet high, and allows for easier construction of higher walls.
Versa-Stud laminated studs are available in industry-standard sizes, namely 1 ½" x 3 ½", 1 ½" x 5 ½", in 12- and 24-foot lengths.
